The November Meeting

This month the meeting began with welcoming 4 new members to the Society. The main business of the meeting was the Annual Plant Auction. In the absence of our Chairman, the job fell to our President, Colin, who was assisted by Bryan and Lorna.

With a wide selection of genera on offer bidding was very competitive with several lots selling for for good prices, the commission on the sales adding to the Society’s funds.

Not surprisingly with members bringing in plants for auction the Table Show was a little low in numbers with 5 members staging 8 plants, but nevertheless an interesting display. The winning plant this month was Holcoglossum wangii, native to southern China and north Vietnam, shown by Colin Thorburn.
